We were very disappointed with our entrees at Jensen's. The popovers were great and the salad was tasty, but my steak was just plain tough. Clearly the quality of the meat was the problem, not the preparation. We ordered Au gratin potatoes to share and they were under cooked. The broiled shrimp was more like poached with no flavor at all. My husband ordered the walleye and it was overly crisp. I don't think we'll be returning to Jensen's. The food was not good for the prices they charge.
My husband talked about this place for years. He took me there for our anniversary tonight and I have to say..........I was impressed. The service was great, the staff were on top of things but never did we feel rushed. I didn't even realize they had cleared our dishes they were so not disruptive while doing so. Then there was the food, the Bob's bread was something my husband raved about and again.... I was impressed. I have never had bread like that in my life. I had the shrimp pasta and he had the steak plus we added the garlic mashed potatoes. The pasta was a flavor explosion in my mouth, the potatoes were amazing and the steak was perfect. I am excited to share my opinion and even more excited to go back as we definitely will be.

This is the Minnesota supper club experience refined. The wait staff was very attentive and personable. I had the prime rib and it was fabulous. There was some but not too much fat on it and it was cooked perfectly. The crab cakes were almost to Maryland standards and I say that because I used to live in Baltimore. I think one of the best things is that it is quiet enough that you can hold a conversation without raising your voice across the table. The price was fair versus other steak houses I've been to. I have paid far more for less at other restaurants. So, if you want an honestly good meal without all the atmospheric glitz this is a great place to go.
Everything was wonderful. The staff was personable and knowledgeable, and the service was surprisingly quick, I was expecting a huge wait. The food was great. I really liked the popovers that they served before the meal. I also got a shrimp and noodle soup that was very rich and delicious. The corn dogs, however were what my younger sister got and they were absolutely awful. I hasten to add that everything else was wonderful, you should definitely try this restaurant, but don’t order corn dogs. The crayons were also of low quality, so that’s a warning if that sort of thing bothers you. When I came, it was decorated for Christmas, and was very pretty. All in all, a great experience.
The fish is fresh not frozen. No fishy taste. Delicious meal.
