Wanted to take a minute to highly recommend Erik's in Eagan for ANY biking needs or issues. I've only been biking for around 4 years, started out knowing absolutely nothing and have become a bit of a fanatic. Erik's has been with me every step of the way. I have been in there for road, mountain, fat, tires, pedals, shoes, computers, trailers, accessories... you name it. Every time I've needed anything they have been very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. I have personally dealt with Ryan, Garth, and Nathan regularly and am always impressed by their ability to help me determine the best solution for my current need. They really understand the sport and have an amazing ability to assess skill level and make appropriate recommendations.
I absolutely thrashed my road bike today, it was dirty and full of February grit from an unseasonably warm day.
Rude employees = not good choice
Trust me, I am a busy person and do not usually take the time to write many reviews whether good or bad, but I just had to share my experiences with this shop. I wouldn't even consider buying anything for biking without having had at least checked with them first.
Eric's bike shop in Eagan provides exceptional service. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and are willing to listen to customers. They do a great job of providing bikes and accessories that fit their riding needs.
I've come to learn to appreciate unexpected kindness; today the service department at Erik's - Eagan did just that.
Take your stuff to Erik's Eagan location.
The service department was backed up with others like me who hoped for the spring overhaul. I need my bike to train for a long charity ride and couldn't wait for the overhall. I asked to leave my bike a couple hours while my sons and I grabbed some dinner.
The only constructive criticism I'd offer is that there are currently no bike maintenance classes being offered. I believe this a corporate problem, not a store level issue.
Ryan is especially approachable. He does a great job of working with bikers of all ages and abilities. Adam, in service, is not only an exceptional mechanic, but he is also willing to listen to customer's needs.
First Experience was GREAT 2nd not so much.. My first visit was amazing one of the managers helped me figure out what bike fit for me and my wants. Very helpful, friendly and patient. Then a few days later I went back to purchase my bike and the rep was NO WHERE near as helpful he made me feel stupid for asking questions and did not seam to want to help me at all. I work in sales and customer service myself and I get having a bad day, but I was very disappointed in how my experience ended. Once he noticed I was upset he seemed to change his tone, but he really changed my excitement and overall experience in buying my first nice new bike. I'll probably go back for service help but other then that really put a damper on my thoughts of shopping in store. Unless that manager is around I highly doubt I'd want to shop there again.
When I stopped back to take my bike home, they cleaned it! Not just cleaned it, but it was shined up and ready to put back on my trainer. Little things seem so insignificant, but when you're busy, they are huge!
Very disappointed with the poor coustomer service this store has, one person in particular, assistant manager Nathan cox. He seemed very rushed and rude the whole time he helped me. I'm not sure what was going on that day but he just seemed very rude and I don't need that in my shopping experience. He acted like he was way better than me. Don't shop here, if you do make sure you aren't helped by Nathan cox... Thanks eriks,
