Terrible experience similar to one Len Lorence had. Can't believe a sandwich shop closes at 6, I live very close, asked why and their reasoning was they get no business after 6. I live in the apartment complex across the street and find it funny how many times I hear a neighbor complain about the 6 oclock closing time or had a friend try to stop there on their way over only to see it was closed. Also, the last time I was there I walked in around 5:45 ish and one of the employees that was cleaning up the tables turned to another employee behind the counter and asks him "Oh, you didn't lock the door yet?" as if I was coming in after they close. I was back in my apartment eating the food well before 6 (the time they list as their closing time) so I don't understand why an employee would lock the door prior to 6. Great food, but very poor hours of operation/staff.
Great soup, very friendly and hospitable crew.
All that being said the sandwiches are tasty and so is the GF bread. It's just so frustrating that the service is so TERRIBLE.
I love it here! They always hook me up with sundried tomatoes
Honestly, I have never had a sandwich where the bread was so overcooked that I could hear a prominent crunch with every bite. The meat and veggies were fresh and delectable-- but, the bread was atrocious enough to completely ruin it. Since this was the second time I have ever tried Erbert and Gerberts, it left a horrible impression that will unfortunately make me write off this company as a food option. I'll stick with the Gargantuan from Jimmy John's or Subway-- where, at least I can have it my way.
Service is CRAP. Today I spent 30 minutes trying to reach them to place an order. I was put in hold 3 times for over 5 minutes each, downright hung up on a couple times and ended up just not eating there. This is not the first time I've had issues reaching them, I've ordered delivery plenty of times, had my food screwed up a couple times. Not to mention today, when I finally reached someone and complained, lightly even, about being put in hold or hung up on I got " yep, I've put you on hold a couple times." and curtly at that. I would've been perfectly happy with "sorry about that, we've been super busy today. What can I get for you?"
